ALMOST SCHOOL / TERRY'S TUTORING

Terry LaRocca was born in Monterey Park, California. At age sixteen, Terry realized her vocation for teaching and made it her life long career. Terry was head teacher at The Tutoring School as well as Director for Student and Home Schooling Programs for five years. She was also the acting School principal.

Her passion for teaching brought her to Los Angeles’ inner city where she ran a literacy program for over 2 years. Terry is the founder of the renowned Almost School Tutoring program and Terry’s Tutoring, whose programs feature her own method of teaching phonics. Almost School Tutoring has been implemented in daycare centers throughout Los Angeles. Terry currently attends UCLA to keep abreast of new educational breakthroughs. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband Joey LaRocca, lead singer of The Briggs and their beloved cats Captain and Olga.

Corinne Buchanan

Corinne is one of Almost Schools' superstars. Originally from San Luis Obispo, California, Corinne got her start in education at the age of 16. She attended the Montessori and Tutoring Schools as well as Options for Youth.

Corinne has also worked in the entertainment industry where she was featured in two independent films and a host of TV commercials.

But her heart has always been in education first and foremost. "I love working with kids, especially young children. There is something about their innocence and honesty that is truly amazing. I love helping people and education helps prepare children for a bright future full of self-confidence."

Her journey began many years ago when she was a teacher's assistant at The Tutoring School. She was later promoted to be a teacher after discovering education was her true calling.

Corinne has been instrumental in the expansion of Almost School at daycares all over Southern California and continues to help founder Terry La Rocca as an executive for Almost School and Terry's Tutoring.

Corinne also enjoys cooking, gardening, sewing and playing with her new puppy "Ruby”.

Born in beautiful Pasadena, California, Amanda is the oldest of five children so naturally, working with children comes easy to her.

"I like to help people. Helping others is what draws me into education. My student wins are my own."

Amanda also enjoys acting, singing, painting and helping her students win. She also has a passion for good poetry.

Amanda brings to Terry's Tutoring ten years in education. Her expertise in Math and Reading help us continue to provide the utmost in quality tutoring.
